#1 Duncan Kincaid/Gemma James British police procedural in which Supt. Kincaid is on holiday in Yorkshire, taking his cousin's place last-minute at a timeshare at a small-town country estate turned B&B. When the body of the assistant manager, whom Kincaid met and liked, is found floating in the Jacuzzi along with a plugged-in electric space heater, the holiday starts to seem too much like work. I've had this book on my TBR for ages and am sorry I haven't read it sooner. This looks to be another Brit police series that I'm going to quite enjoy and have ordered the second in series from PBS.

The first in a series of Scotland Yard detectives Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James. Well written, good characters, and a good story.

I like the Gemma James character. This one of the series is mostly about Kincaid, however.

Pretty well written, but I did guess the killer by halfway through....

This is the first Duncan Kincaid/Gemma James book and it is great just like all Crombie's books.
