This was a nice conclusion to the Sophie's Daughter's Series and it also concludes a 9 book series of interwoven stories about strong women in Texas and Montana in the 1880's.
Mandy was raised Texas strong to help protect her mother and sisters and as an adult living in Montana she continues to protect those around her.
In this story those she is trying to protect are her 3 small children and her new husband. A feud had been started when a member of a family is killed while working for Mandy's first husband. It has now become one man's vendetta to kill Mandy. She has hidden herself and her children on a mountaintop and sent all of her family messages to stay away from her so they will not be brought into the feud. She prays nightly for the strength to protect those who depend on her.
Tom has loved Mandy since the day he first met her and he has now decided it is time to rescue her from her self imposed exile and make her his wife so he can protect her and her children.
Both Mandy and Tom are hard headed and the banter between them is great as they try to work on a common solution to protect them all.
I have enjoyed every book I have read by Mary Connealy and would recommend them to anyone.

Another excellent book by Mary Connealy! Couldn't put it down. It's been five y ears and Tom Linscott is ready to make his move especially now vengeful plans are coming towards the woman he loves/

This is Mandy's story. I think she is my favorite McClellan sister. She is just so spunky and tough and boy, can she shoot! Her husband was surprised at what an amazing shot she was but better than that...the outlaws she faced were completely shocked!
I loved seeing big bad Tom Linscott from "The Husband Tree" fall completely in love and become a big old softie which I suspected he was anyway.

I read this book slowly so I could savor every word! Sharpshooter in Petticoats is the last of the Sophie's Daughter's series and what a series! Mary Coneally writes with wit, humor and adventure. Anyone who enjoys a good cowboy, or rather cowgirl story will enjoy this book. Highly recommended!

What a satisfying conclusion to this wonderful series! Mandy tries so hard to protect her family from the gang trying to kill her, she shuts everyone out. But thankfully Tom can't wait any longer to make her his wife, so forces her from her mountaintop fortress. Lots of action and laughter, love and family bonding follow.
