Adorable book with a comedic flare. I fell in love with Catherine Friend after reading this books prequel Hit by a Farm. An education in shepherding coupled with an appreciation for both the animal and what it can provide, Friend tells a compelling story from her farm in Minnesota that will make you wish you were enjoying the craziness of it with her.

I loved this book! It was witty, warm, and so well written. I'll never think of life on a farm in the same way. Catherine is NOT a farm wife, altho she gives it her best. I learned a lot about raising sheep, farming, and how to keep a relationship together. Wonderful read, laugh out loud humor, and a few tears....didn't want to put it down!

An entertaining look at middle age on a sheep farm, the angst that can come from following someone else's dreams, and the drive to become engaged in something you are only peripherally aligned with. The style is fun and easy to read--I read most of it aloud to my girlfriend. A few parts dragged as the author related her research rather than her experiences, but on the whole an excellent read.

Touching, funny, and you will learn more about sheep and fiber than you ever thought that you'd want to know...but in an entertaining way. Almost made me want to go out and buy a couple of sheep. Even if you have never knitted or woven so much as a tangled web, readers will find this book enjoyable.
