Book 1 in the Desert Princes trilogy. Xavier de Maistre, a very wealthy Frenchman, finds out as an adult he is one the Sheik of Kharastan's illegimate sons and possible heir to the throne. He is informed of this news by a beautiful English Lawyer, named Laura Cottingham. He is initially reluctant to believe the news but is intrigued by Laura so decides to visit Kharastan to find out the truth.

Fun story telling the tale of Xavier & Laura's relationship and an introduction to the kingdom of Kharastan.
