This was an excellent novel about one Bishop's attempt to refocus the Church. His struggles and adversaries caused him much trouble but he persevered winning over the Pope. His diocese became a model of a newly reformed Catholic Church that was an amazing outreach to other churches in the area. This would be a good book for the Vatican to read because much of their laws and orders are totally outdated. I really liked this book and would recommend it for anyone to read.
