Phillip Keller, who owned and operated a sheep ranch for years, writes about Psalm 23 with unusual insight. I loved this book!

This is such a different look at what might well be the most over used Psalm in the Bible. Many of us just repeat the words we memorized when we were young. This book taught me there is sooooo much more in 23 Psalm. This book is amazing.

I will never look at Psalm 23 the same after reading this book! It is a must read for all Christians. The author's perspective from a shepherd's viewpoint is so enlightening and creative. My teenage children loved hearing about what the sheep were up to every chapter!

At first sight, this book apears to be a quick light read. It is anything but quick and light. It reminds us on our dependence on God and his love and protection.

Copyright 1970, approx. 150 pages (pages are not numbered). Published by Marshall Pickering, a subsidiary of the Zondervan Corporation. From the back cover:

Who better to unfold the rich meaning of the psalm of the Great Shepherd than a shepherd who knows his sheep and who, in the heat of summer and icy cold of winter, has guarded them, fed them, led them into safety and watched over them from birth?

These comforting and strengthening insights into God's loving care for us have warmed hearts and homes throughout the world, and have established this book as a firm favourite.

Phillip Keller was born in East Africa where his farming career began. A deep love for the land opened up new opportunities in conservation and ecology, and he is now a wildlife journalist and photographer, and author of many loved Christian books.

Great Insights! This book is written from the standpoint of a shepherd who loves his sheep and knows the dangers his sheep face. His parallels to the 23rd Psalm are touching and inspirational.
