Riveting, light historical fiction. A bit bawdy in parts - a lot of the action revolves around sexual misunderstandings or near misses, although not much actual sex; I suppose that's to be expected when a main plot point is a girl masquerading as a boy.

Entertaining, light read, was a late-at-night, no brain required book.
Fast moving, almost believeable, placed in the time of the Crusades. Alix will do anything to regain her lands and often suceeds more by stumble than by design.

This book was really intriguing, and had one of the best endings I've ever read.
