Fast paced us vs aliens, good scf-fi
A science fiction yarn with "Bugs" overrunning planet after planet. They regard all humanity as a source of protein. After billions are slaughtered, there is only on option left, the Shiva Option.
3rd book in the series that starts with "Crusade" and is followed by "In Death Ground". A great collection of grand Space warfare.
This book is a military war story set in a science fiction realm. It's the story about the Bugs who have wiped out planet after planet until the Grand Alliance steps in. This definitely military SF, and it's big; it's 750 pages long, it has maps in the front of the book for reference, and it has a Glossary in the back of the book in case you need some help in military jargon and how it relates to the story.
I read an ebook on my Palm from him called "The Apocalypse Troll", and I really enjoyed that. But this one is too thick for me to trudge through. But if you like military SF you'll love this.

The war wasn't going well. The "bugs" had overrun planet after planet..and they regarded all intelligent species as convenient protein sources. Defeat was not an option. The Grand Alliance of Humans, Orions, Ophiuchi, and Gorm, united in desperate self-defense, have been driven to the wall. Billions of civilians have been slaughtered and their most powerful offensive operation ended in shattering defeat. Despite all the glorious victories, the bugs just keep coming.
But the Grand Alliance will never surrender-even if it means reactivating General Directive 18, however horrible it might be.
