This is a MUST read for any Twilight fan! This is the story of Bree Tanner, who was featured as a newborn vampire in Eclipse (the best of the series in my opinion). Bree is the young vampire that surrenders during the battle between the Cullen's/Wolfpack and Victoria's army of newborn vampires. I learned some interesting things in the book, such as other uses for vampire venom. Bree's short second life proves that being a vampire is not all it is hyped to be. Being a newborn is a very dangerous existence.

I really enjoyed the chance to get back into the Twilight saga that this novella offered. It was fun, fast paced, and offered views of the Cullen's and Bella from an outsider. Fortunately, I had remembered Bree from Eclipse and that Bella was fascinated by Bree because she wondered if she would also beome a blood thirsty uncontrolled newborn when she turned. I can only hope that Stephenie Meyer will choose to write more of these novellas in the future based on some of the outskirt vampires such as James, Laurent or Aro (which could be an entire series based on his age). If you are a fan get this book!

I loved this book. A great story about a newborn vampire who goes through so much in just such a very short time. Had me turning the pages constantly. Hopefully Stephenie will write a book about a vampire we meet in there named Fred. I want to know more about Fred and what happens to him so much! If you love Twilight this is a great book, if you're new to the books I suggest you read this after you finish Eclipse or else it won't make much sense at all. Again great job, I love it!

All I can say is: WOW
This book blew me away in only one sitting. Totally engaging with no chapters at all, I could not bring myself to put it down even for a few minutes. I love reading books like this that completely capture your attention. Its a keeper for sure for anyone who loves the twilight saga. Honestly, I wished the origional 4 books were as fast moving as this one was.

We ge there a glimps into the life of Bree Tanner. A 3 month old newborn whos forced to live by the rules set forth by "her". They are told the sunlight will kill them, and are basically brainwashed into obeying all of "her" instructions.

When Bree befriends Diego, they discover that the sunlight doesnt actually harm them, they soon realize they are being lied to by Riley (the group leader) and "her".

NO SPOILERS HERE: anyways, the Twilight fans already know what ultimately happens to Bree in the bittersweet ending. It was interesting to learn to how the re-borns act and think, and why the Cullens' eyes are yellow, and also why Bellas blood is so irresistable.

Hands down, I loved this book.

To be completely honest with you, when I heard that a new Twilight book was coming out I had to ask Lori "Who's Bree Tanner". Even after she explained to me that she was a newborn we met very briefly in Eclipse, I still couldn't remember her. I did however, remember the newborn storyline, which is all that is really needed to be able to follow along with this novella. It was interesting to be inside the head of one of the "human-drinking" vampires. Bree really wasn't a very remarkable character, even once the story was over. I really like "Fred", he was a great add-on character that I wish I could know more about. Never-the-less, I enjoyed the glimpse of the Cullens from "the other side" and found the book to be a quick enjoyable hour of entertainment.

This was different than I expected... not as revealing to the main story line as I had anticipated in some ways, and more so in others. To someone who isn't familiar with the series this is probably not the best place to start, but for those of us who are infatuated with the saga, it is just another way to immerse ourselves in this fantasy world a little more, a little longer, a little better.

Great story. So glad we got to peak into the short life of Bree Tanner. I wish she would have stayed around longer. It would have been great to see her as part of the Cullen clan, but glad I got to know her.

Even though I knew what was going to happen to Bree, I was really hoping she could escape with Diego and meet up with Fred. I liked getting to know her and what it was like to be a newborn. I would love for Stephenie Meyer to write more, I have loved all the books she has written.

Pretty entertaining, tells the story of Bella and her vampires from the other side of the fence. Short and sweet, I wish it would have been longer, it seemed a little rushed. All in all a good read.

Although an interesting venture, this book describing one part of the Twilight Saga viewed thru the eyes of a barely mentioned character (Bree, a newborn in Victoria's army of vampires created to fight the Cullen clan), was not worth the effort. Twihards would prefer to hear the original Twilight stories retold thru the eyes of other MAIN characters, I believe. OR book on the long ago human histories of the Cullen clan OR a "history" on the origins of the Wolfpack.

I have been feeling a little tired of this whole franchise and I am ready for mean vampires that don't sparkle. So, I should not have wasted my time on this novella. It was totally a waste of time too. I did not care a whit about Bree. The book was way too short to make me interested in her at all. The only part that was a litte engaging was at the end because the Cullen's appeared and I already know them. I did not think this book needed to be written at all.

Way too short but highly engrossing character study. Made me hope the author explores more material in the Twilight series. A "must read" for the series fan.

If you have interest in the Twilight series, this is a little side story and I do mean little. If you recall in Eclipse, the Cullen family meets up w/ the Volturi and Victoria for the "battle" with the newborns...... Bree Tanner is just one of the newborns and how she came about. This side story collides with Eclipse at the Battle scene.....
too short for my liking....

This is the darker side of the vampire world then the Cullen's that we all love. If Twilight had been like this I wouldn't have become a fan of the series. However, I did find it intriguing and sad, since we all knew the direction the story was headed. Certainly not a fate I'd want to endure!

I didn't really care for the story line, not much to it.
It was certainly not in line with the rest of Meyer's Twilight novels. I was expecting more.

Great, quick read. Nothing spectacular, just a view from someone else's perspective. I enjoyed the Twilight Series and this was a fun addition.

Gives an interesting viewpoint of that of a newborn vampire. It actually makes you wish that she could have made it, lived on to learn the vampire "rules" and join up with her friend Fred. Would recommend it to any Twilight fan.

Really liked this book. It was a quick read, but it gave a new side to the story of the "bad" type of vampire from Twilight. I would recommended this book to.any Twilight fan! Great read!!

Decent back story on Bree Tanner. Would have liked more time spent on the Diego/Bree pairing. Though I understand that their life as vampires was too short. The best scenes came towards the end, when the story meets up with what we know from Eclipse. I love Stephanie Meyer's storytelling ability, but this was not a big deal to me. Would of rather read a novella about Jacob and Renesmee or a finished Midnight Sun.

Fun read. Novella that fills in some background material on some of the lesser characters.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with this book. I was unsure how successful Stephenie Meyer would be, pursuing what seemed to me to be the story of one random vampire that died within five minutes of meeting Bella. But what I found was a lovable, independent young woman who was dealt the wrong cards, but still got to make a difference in the end. (To say a lot without spoilers.)

The story was smooth, and even though it was short, I was so enraptured in the world of Bree, that fact didn't matter. This book was worth picking up and reading. Especially because every book you buy donates one dollar to the Red Cross.

This is a short story that is like reading one long chapter. I don't regret reading this story. It gave me alittle more insight on the "newborns". If you are a Twilight fan you will enjoy reading this book.

Short enough to read in one sitting. Another fun read like all the Twilight books. It was interesting to see a different perspective on the same story. Did have me wishing for a different ending even though I knew the ending before I even began.

Another great book by Stephenie Meyer. This is a short story, novella, of the newborn character of Bree Tanner. It gives you a different perspective of the vampire world through the eyes of a newborn and into Victoria's deception. Even the newborn Bree can see there isn't something right about Riley and their "unknown" purpose. It is interesting to see that Bree, only 16, finds another newborn which she befriends and falls in love with. That last seen in the book when the newborn war is over is an interesting insight into what Edward was able to see from Bree's side of the war and what Bree could share with him to help save them. This additional scene to the story that you do not get from the Twilight series is very informative and helps piece together what Edward gathered from Bree before she was killed. A really great read and alternate perspective.

I read the whole twilight series several yrs ago so it was hard to get into and remember these characters that were barely written about in the series. Overall, its a good read for YA.

I enjoyed all of the Twilight series of books so it was natural for me to pick this one up too. Really enjoyed the book very much. It was short enough that it felt like a tease but long enough for the story to be developed. It's a shame that Bree was a short lived character but it seems like she would have made a nice addition to the family. I would highly recommend this to all.
