This is a MUST read for any Twilight fan! This is the story of Bree Tanner, who was featured as a newborn vampire in Eclipse (the best of the series IMO). Bree is the young vampire that surrenders during the battle between the Cullen's/Wolfpack and Victoria's army of newborn vampires. I learned some interesting things in the book, such as other uses for vampire venom. Bree's short second life proves that being a vampire is not all it is hyped to be. Being a newborn is a very dangerous existence.
I really enjoyed the chance to get back into the Twilight saga that this novella offered. It was fun, fast paced, and offered views of the Cullen's and Bella from an outsider. This is a very quick read that I am glad I didn't miss!

Not bad. I'm glad the author took the time to do this novella. I actually enjoyed getting Bree's point of view. Tho I still think, as I do about the other twilight books, that it could've been written with half the words than it actually was.
This is a perfect little addition to the world of Twilight. Letting the reader get to know Bree and what she is told about her new life, making the reader desperate to clue her in before it is too late. What makes it such a great addition to Twilight is that with the other 4 books, there's always a happy ending for the "good" vampires and it conditions the readers to this ideal. Previous books "humanized" vampires a bit too much and sort of gave the readers that comfort zone. In this book however, it's a deadly reminder that vampires are not naturally civil and "domesticized", that there's not always a happy ending for the good, and that the evil still do prevail at times. This was pretty much a wake up call to the true nature of Vampires.

If you're a fan of Twilight, this is an interesting novella to read. It gives a little bit of insight into the newborn vampires from Eclipse and it was interesting to read the events from Bree's point of view. A very quick read. Being a fan of the Twilight books, I knew how this was going to end so it was kind of anti climatic in that sense. It was still interesting though and I would recommend it.

A mere footnote in the world of Twlight. Bree Tanner, a young girl, turned newborn vamp by the evasive and deceptive efforts of Victoria (anti-climatic villian.) Meyer needed this closure more for herself, than for us as readers. Walking a mile in this newborn's shoes is more gooey with plot than necessary. I prefer the simplicity in Eclipse. Bree was perhaps omitted by a skillful editor.
If exploring the world further through the eyes of a newborn was what Meyer wanted to do, then it should have been a stand alone story without the crossover. By the end of this cute little bedtime drama, I felt as if I was reading a deleted scene from Eclipse.
Thank S. Meyer, but next time wash your losses down with a shot of JD. The burn will bring you closer to Bree than this sappy underdeveloped footnote.
