I know this book has been around for a long time, but it is still an excellent story. A young European beauty falls in love with an Amer.soldier only to be heart broken. But, boy does she get her revenge! (and much more than she'd imagined) Can't put it down.
Read it a long time agobut remember as being an exciting story.
A very good revenge book, mystery - was made into a very successful movie
" a sweeping drama of two continents and four passionately intertwined lives" riveting read...

This was my first Sidney Sheldon book. I loved it. I read it one day and I read the sequel the next day. They only thing that I had trouble with was that it didn't seem like it took place in the 1940s. It seemed more like the 1970s. I'm not sure if its because the book was written in the seventies or that I haven't read many books that took place in the forties so I have a hard time visualizing it. I will definately be ready more Sidney Sheldon in the future.

"The Other Side of Midnight" is Sidney Sheldon at his best, writing about romantic entanglements, reverses of fortune, thrilling suspense, and ultimate justice. Beautiful but poor Parisian Noelle Page falls madly in love with American Larry Douglas during WWII. When she becomes pregnant, he deserts her, thus setting her on a path of revenge that consumes her very being. Ruthlessly driven, she becomes a supermodel, movie star, and finally, as mistress to mega-rich Constantin Demiris, Noelle is reunited with Larry. Will she make him pay for what he did to her... or will she fall under his spell again?
Their lives are intertwined by passion..Noelle Page, the breathtakingly beautiful French actress who has never forgotten her first..and most callous..lover.......Larry Douglas, the charismatic playboy-pilot who now works for one of the most feared men in the world..Catherine Douglas, his adoring young American wife who wakes from a dream of love to find herself caught in a web of terror and revenge..and Constantin Demiris, the legendary Greek tycoon who carefully tightens the strands that control them all.
One of Sheldon's best. A fast-paced , sophisticated and entertaining novel.
