I like Allison Brennan but sometimes all her books seem to be alike, this is okay for a quick summer beach reading.

Lucy Kincaid is working as an analyst in the FBI office tracking online sex predators. In three weeks she'll attend the FBI Academy. Noah Armstrong, her training agent, asked her to join him in the field as an analyst and not as a field agent. The FBI's field agent offices is understaffed.

On the front page article, Congressman Alan Crowley was discovered as having an affair with Wendy James, a secretary for a powerful DC lobbying firm. Wendy was jogging in the park when she was murdered. The FBI took over the murder case. When Wendy first interviewed with the FBI related to the Congressman's affair, she had contradicted herself, then requested counsel be present. Wendy had appointment with the FBI for a interview when she was murdered.

The DC Metro police lacked manpower and requested assistance from the FBI in a new murder case. FBI Agent Noah Armstrong and Lucy Kincaid went to the crime scene at a sleazy motel. The victim, a female hooker, was murdered with the same modus operandi as had Wendy James. Lucy overstepped her bounds when she told DC detective Reid that the FBI could handle this case. Lucy thinks there is a connection between the two murders and a serial killer targeting prostitutes.

Senator Jonathon Paxton hired Lucy's boyfriend, Sean Rogan, to investigate who is blackmailing him. If word of this gets out, Lucy will lose her job as an FBI agent and Senator Paxton would go to jail.

Agent Armstrong recommended Lucy for the FBI academy, but is now having second thought about his recommendation. At several crime scenes, Lucy appeared to be having flashbacks from when she was held hostage and raped.

A great Lucy Kincaid series.

Stalked next book in the series due out October 30, 2012. Lucy Kincaid new trainee at the FBI Academy in Quantico.

When the FBI is called out on a high-profile murder, Lucy Kincaid tags along as an analyst. The body of Wendy James, a high-priced call girl, was found on a jogging path. She was in the news last week when pictures of her and Congressman Alan Crowley were leaked to the press. As Lucy and FBI Agent Noah Armstrong work the case, they are asked to assist the D.C. Police with their investigation on the murder of a prostitute. Lucy sees ties between the cases, believing that both cases may have the same killer.

This book took me a while to get into. There were many characters to sort out. By the time we got to the second murder, my interest was piqued. There was so much going on, especially with a group of prostitutes on the run from two killers who have targeted them. When more hookers are picked off, Lucy realizes that she needs to talk to the one girl who is trying to hold the group safely together.

While the mystery pulled me into the story, the behavior of some of the regular cast in this series, Lucy, Noah, and her boyfriend Sean Rogan, annoyed me. Lucy once again has issues with her past rape. Noah doesn't explain exactly what he wants out of Lucy and is mad when she oversteps. Sean is jealous of Noah for no good reason. I like seeing the characters grow throughout the series, but some of this is getting stale. My rating: 4 Stars.

Excellent book in a great series. This one is confusing half way through, lots of things going on and really I thought there was no way that it could all come together. It started unraveling and there was no stopping in this one. Great ending, can't wait tot read the next one.
