The bad:
Sometimes I just could not tell where the storyline twined the plays with the letters with the author's narration.
The good:
Excellent book, lots of personal, primary sources, that tells the story of the WW I Christmas Truce and savors it like a fine wine. Not a long book, altho the chapters bogged down a bit, but there were plenty of perspectives to veer between and plenty of unanswered questions to speculate about. Very good book.

This was a very good book. You never hear much about the WW1 soldiers, but believe me I think they had it even worse than the WW2 soldiers did.
