Well, I did remember this one the best, but I'm surprised that I thought that I would like it the least of the three. It was VERY exciting! And, yes, I did remember quite a bit... right down to the details, but it was still a pleasure to read. I think I liked it the least when I was younger because Skandranon and Amberdrake did not feature very prominently and poor Kechara wasn't more than mentioned. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it this time around.

Another great book by Lackey, this continues and completes the Mage Wars trilogy. Although Skan is not the main character, he does appear in this book as well. It follows the lives of the offspring of Amberdrake and Skan. I was hoping this series would describe how the past prior to Valdemar tied into the Valdemar stories I have read. It did not, although I did enjoy reading this.

This third book in the trilogy is not quite as good as the first two, possibly because this one focuses on Skan and Drake's children, and not them. To me the appeal of the story was Skan and Drake, so to have them take the back seat was a bit of a disappointment.

Better than Book 2 of this trilogy. Not the best trilogy by Mercedes Lackey, but still worth reading.

Skandranon's and Amberdrake's kids are grown up and ready to get out from under their parent's shadows. Last book in the Mage War trilogy (the Black Gryphon, and the White Gryphon).

not as good as the first two books of the mage wars series but it was alright. Skan and amberdrake still make an appearance and even help out a little, but the focus is shifted away from these two loved characters and onto drake's daughter and one of skan's sons who are partnered together.
