I loved Helena. She is one of the most interesting characters I have read about in books of that time frame. I appreciated her strength, sense of self, and ability to get things done. Varden is not too bad either. I have not read any of the other books in these series, but I feel this one stands alone.

Third book in this trilogy. It was good, but not as good as the first book ... The Golden Leopard.

The daughter of scandal, Helena Pryena Pryce lives life on the fringes of Society, where she tirelessly fights for social reform. Derek Leighton, Earl of Varden, is thoroughly ensconced in the world of privilege-until his quest for adventure nearly destroys him.

I have read this series and enjoyed all three. Each one was more intriguing than the one before. The intensity of the relationship between the H/H keeps you reading until the end. I'm glad I read them in sequence because of the underlying story which culminates in the third book. I am truly sorry that she apparently is not publishing at the present time.
