I was highly disappointed with this last installment of the Cheney sister trilogy. I enjoyed the previous books in this series because they exemplify a women's inner strength. This book left a lot to be desired. It was little more than a romance between Miri and Simon. Anything about the Silver Rose seemed more like filler. While the other books are romances as well, the romance develops with the story and deepens your connection with the characters. I felt like I was just going in circles and coming to the same situation, there was no development. The story was not able to transcend Miri into this powerful Lady of Faire Isle. It does nothing to change my view of Miri as the insignificant sister, a mere shadow of the others. This book is a mere shadow of the others.

This is book #3 of an excellant series; I highly recommend anyone to read it who enjoys historical ficture, with a touch of magic. The Dark Queen and The Courtesan are #1 and #2, respectively.

The silver rose is the last book in the dark queen trilogy, a series of romantic paranormal books each devoted to a sister from the Cheney family of Faire Isle, France. In each book the sister who it's focused on finds her true love and manages to somehow discover her inner strength and magic while outwitting the evil queen of France Catherine de Medici.
