i loved this book. it is certainly a great romance read for anyone interested in some hot scenes.
but for me it was really about being an armchair adventure lover and how close i felt to the alaskan wild in this telling. there is so much to absorb. the community of people in the town and surrounding communities are filled with people, native and otherwise, who care about each other and care about the land, who have huge reserves of resilience and live very minimalistic and non materialistic lives. it's refreshing, that's for sure.
SPOILER ALERT: i lost my father to lung cancer years ago and this story ripped my scars wide open. beware. not to mention, my mum died a week ago. but a good cry is usually cathartic and this did not disappoint.
