I was riveted! I think I went to bed 4 times, and ended up getting back up to read more; I finished it in one night. I am impressed with the style and flow of Kate's writing. I was immediately sucked into the story and found the characters to be real and believable.
I have never read a book with m/m sex...have very little reading experience with bondage or BDSM or Dom...and I usually get upset with very obvious and graphic physical abuse. I did not get upset reading this at all. Not to say that forcing someone and hurting them is not horrific...I find it interesting that this was graphic and it didn't freak me out.
Anyway, I would not have been "riveted" (never used that word before!) if the story wasn't well done and interesting...there was plenty of sex, but it was all part of the story and not the other way around. Very nicely done.

For me, I need at least one main character who is interesting, growing or charismatic. The two main characters of this book were overwhelmed by self loathing and self doubt. After each exciting sexual encounter the pleasure was instantly doused with negative emotions and actions. At one point I put the book down thinking "What a couple of ninnies!" I enjoy Kate Pearce's writing, but this was not a favorite. 3.25 stars.
