Beautifully illustrated story of a sad clown, Pierrot, who is befriended by village children. The pictures are drawn in the inimitable De Paola style, with bold lines, bright colors, and lovely feeling throughout.
It's fun to have no words and make up the story as you go along, making changes or additions to your story every time you read it. The lovely thing about this book is that you don't need words to figure out what is going on. My daughter likes to name the children and create her own stories.
