I think the only aspect that clicked for me was Liam's horrifying experience as a prisoner in New South Wales. As for the rest, the frequent time-hops were frustrating interruptions that I skipped, and I felt disconnected from the characters as well as shortchanged by the anti-climatic demise of the enemy because for what Liam experienced at Stephen's hand, my inner dogs howled for his blood in the most cruel way imaginable. Hmph. 3 stars.
