My husband recommended that I read this small 50 page book. The tale is 'retold in modern prose' by Jessie L. Weston.
A great green stranger appears in the court of King Arthur during the New Year's feast. He puts a challenge out that anyone can cut his head off as long as in a year he gets to give the same back. Sir Gawain volunteers.
Follow the story to find out what happens. It will only take you a little time to read this tale from the 14th century and you can say you've read one of the great Arthurian legends.
Two thumbs up for this entertaining tale.

The medieval classic retold in modern prose. This tale of chivalry blends pagan and Christian ethics and is a medievel look at such virtues as forgiveness and honor.
