"Raise up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (from Proverbs). Colleen Carrol Campbell was raised by two devout Catholic parents, but found it too easy to put her faith in a box when she packed up for college. Her thoughtful and moving memoir is about how she made her way back to putting God first and about the remarkable saints she enlisted in her cause. Her dilemmas are all too familiar and I found myself devouring each chapter to see how each of them was resolved. Campbell has been a speech writer for George W. Bush and has hosted 'Faith and Culture' on EWTN.
Very well written and inspirational. I appreciated how she wrote about the different times in her life, some of the difficulties that we can all relate to. Her stories gave me much to think about in terms of the saints and how they relate to my own life.
