Cat & her tenant Moses try to help a newly-paroled young woman - she was released to her abusive stepfather who also wants custody of her kids. Moses knew her while he worked Juvie as a cop. It gets really funny while Cat & -all- her tenants take care of the twin girls & their 5-year-old brother.
A woman who has raised three kids is suspicious by nature, and Cat Caliban figures she has what it takes to be an investigator. Neighbors in her apartment building help and hinder, and her probe into the activities of a recent parolee from a women's prison is surprising humorous as well as sad.
On the trail of a killer, Cat faces a fate worse than death-caring for three kids...again.
Each book seems to have more and more "chuckle aloud" parts. I like her because she's not pergfect, but a senior like me.
A Cat Caliban mystery.
