This is an excellent book. It was thoroughly and widely researched, with the author traveling all over the world and participating in many of the experiments whenever she could. What I could appreciate about it the most is that it was written by a journalist. When the science became too bogged down, she wrote a comparison with something common with which the every day reader could relate. It helped tremendously in understanding for those of us who are not scientifically minded. Yet it was still educational and down to earth. Loved it!

This book is fascinating. It's technically a science book but reads like a novel. The earth is facing a new extinction, probably caused by mankind and we are the ones that will become extinct. Very well written and documented.
