I ordered this book for my 10 year old son. Prior to this series I had trouble getting him to read regularly. He loved this book and has zipped through the next 3 in line. I read it also, and found it entertaining as well. A great book for a young boys.

Exciting read about a fourteen-year-old spy named Alex Rider.

Good for middle-to-high-school readers.

Alex Rider still doesn't want to be a spy, but Alan Blunt, and MI6, won't let go. In this - his third assignment - Alex travels from Wimbledon to Cornwall, Miami, Skeleton Key (a Cuban island), Canada, Edinburgh, and Murmansk. He finds himself in many situations including tennis, surfing, boating, diving, skateboarding, and horesback riding. Whew! And I thought going to the beach was adventure enough when I was in high school :o)

From book back:
Alex Rider has been through a lot in his fourteen years. He's been shot at by international criminals, chased down a mountainside on a makeshift snowboard, and has stood face to face with pure evil. Twice, Alex has managed to save the world. And twice, he has almost been killed doing it.
But now Alex faces something even more dangerous. The desperation of a man who has lost everything he cared for: his country and his only son. A man who just happens to have a nuclear weapon and a serious grudge against the free world...
Uniting forces with America's own CIA for the first time, teen spy Alex Rider battles terror from the sun-baked beaches of Miami all the way to the barren ice fields of northernmost Russia. Come along for the thrilling ride of a lifetime.

My teen son really enjoys the Alex Rider series. He enjoyed this one too. He read it out of line with the others in the series, and still enjoyed it.
