An interesting story of how 3 different women's lives intersect. A touching story about how a paradigm shift can alter your view of nearly any situation. I liked it, didn't love it.

Read this in one sitting. I loved the stories behind the story, told in each of the women's point of views, all of which are serving their time, whether behind bars or alone outside them. It gave a real human experience of living in prison, knowing your days are numbered. I thought the general story could have been a bit more developed, as you can guess the ending way before it happens, but overall i enjoyed reading this one. I am interested in reading more of Amanda Eyre Ward's books.

I LOVED this book. It was one of the best that I read this year. The characters were really believeable and explored the ambiguity some people feel about the death penalty. Great read! I was sad to see it end.

I just finished reading this book and really enjoyed it. It is about 3 women who you would think have nothing in common, but in the end their lives cross over to each other. Each chapter is told from one of the women's point of view.
I found the book easy to read and easy to follow. One of the main topics is the death penalty. Although this book does not change my mind on the subject, it did bring a different perspective for me to think about.

I REALLY enjoyed this book! Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. It kept my interest chapeter by chapter and the ending was very surprising (in a way), but expected in a way, but just not quite the way I thought it would end. (confused?) haha. I loved it and would love to read more from this author. She truely understands a woman's feelings and how to express them. I found myself in all 3 of these women - compleltely understood where they were coming from even though they all came from different walks of life and different circumstances and different lives. Great book!

This was a good book - though I did enjoy _How To Be Lost_ a lot more. The characters in this novel were quite strong, and there was definitely a high emotional appeal, but the plot was very predictable. The biggest (and most shocking) drawback to the whole novel was Karen. Her entire crime wave as well as personal life was completely lifted from Aileen Wuornos's life. Ward hardly put any spin on that true story at all (other than change Karen's race) to make her story unique. I wouldn't have been as upset had Ward acknowledge this inspiration anywhere in the book. Since she did not, it seems a bit life theft. The book came out the same year as the film _Monster_, so the good ratings of the book are really shocking, unless the book's release preceded the movie's. It was well-written, and I am glad that I read it, I just wish that Ward had thrown out some sort of acknowledgment that she based Karen of Aileen.

I really enjoyed this story. After thinking about it, it would make a good "Lifetime" movie. Three unlikely women whose lives are brought together through a series of tragic events. It was sad, touching, funny at times and ultimately uplifting at the end.

A touching story of loss, forgiveness, compassion and hope.

This was an awesome book! I read it in two days because I couldn't put it down.
I really enjoyed this book and how the lives of three women converge. This lady writes really well.
Great story of three women who's lives come together in a most dramatic way. Pat
wow best book I've read in a while
This is my second Amanda Eyre Ward book, and she once again creates a story and characters that immediatly draw you in. It's interesting how she entwines the lives of Franny, Karen, and Celia, and while you may not like them sometimes, you get to know them and respect them. These are women with flaws and yet they each find a way to maintain their dignity - something I think we forget is available to all of us in some measure no matter what the circumstances.
Very good novel! In the beginning I was a little confused as to follow the story line because through out the book the chapters are based between 3 women....but after she ties the 3 women together you totally get it. She leaves you on the edge of your sit thirsting for more the entire book!
I loved this book. It was so raw and real. I love this author as well. Finished the book in a couple of days and it was wonderful!
Very good book. Three women linked together by a woman in prison on death row.
I hesitate to review this book because it is so hard to avoid all of the clichés. impossible to put down, pulled me in from the beginning a story that will stay with me for a long time really made me think characters that we could all relate to on some level But it is all so true. This is not my usual genre of book, but once I picked it up I read it in a day. It is gritty, and witty, and a worth while read.
