Story was good, real engaging! Eventhough I hadn't read book 1 I wasn't lost and didn't even realize I had skipped it
This was a great romance novel and it made me go right in and order the first one (yeah I read it out of order) and the third one in the series.

Great book, great series!
Fantastic sequel! I felt so bad for Dana Sue and Annie. I was almost crying in spots. Sherryl Woods really knew how to make you feel the characters. I am almost going to hate to read the last one in this trilogy. They have all been so great!
second book of three. good story.
This is the second book in the Sweet Magnolia's trilogy. Dana Sue is going through several crisis, one with her own health, one with her marriage-which is basically over, and the biggest is with the health of her teenage daughter. There to help her are her two best friends, Maddie and Helen. The friendship of these women is central to this series, and is what makes it so special. Dana Sue has to look inside herself to see what it is she really wants and needs, and that's when her life starts getting back together!
This is the second book in Sherryl Woods' trilogy, The Sweet Magnolias. This book focuses on Dana Sue trying to handle a full time job of running a business; a daughter who becomes dangerously anorexic; and ex-husband who wants to be back in Dana Sue's life; and Dana Sue's own health issues. It's light reading and just an enjoyable read.
Very good book
Loved the book!

Great book! I like the twist on the older woman/younger man. And as always the family dynamics were realistic.
It was a good book, nice to continue the series!!!

Very good
This is my first full length book by Sherryl Woods. I read one of her short stories and was impressed by it.
Like her short stories, Wood's characters are not perfect. They don't always do what is right or act in a way we would want a hero/heroine to act, but I think that's where the appeal is for me.
Reconciliation with a cheating spouse is a hard sale for me. Most often I always feel the apology and winning the trust back lacking. On top of that, everyone around that throws their two-cents can be annoying. While the book did contain these things, I still enjoyed and the journey these two people shared. I was disappointed that Ronnie never really said he was sorry and he even threw in the much dreaded "Don't throw away twenty years of a good marriage for one mistake I made." That always bothered me when I hear that because didn't the cheater throw away twenty good years for that one mistake as well? He also used sex as a winning point a bit too much. I'm not sure they really dealt with why he cheated in the first place other than that he took her for granted.
So what won out for me in this book? It had to be Annie's eating disorder and how everyone came together to deal with that. It was beautifully done and I cried quite a bit throughout the book for the emotional reactions of all the characters.
Ultimately I wasn't exactly rooting for Ronnie and Dana Sue. To me it wasn't important if they made it or not but I loved the healing that took place among the family and friends in regards to their health. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I really enjoy the sweet magnolia series!!!
This book was definitely better than the first one in this series. It has realism and sadness, hope and happiness, hate turned to love, distrust turned to trust; all the important emotions in a modern love story. Liked it a lot.
Second in "The Sweet Magnolias" series......
This second book on the Sweet Magnolias series is also very good. I like that the characters are not perfect people emotionaly or physically. Some real problems are tackled in this story, infidelity, forgiveness, eating disorders among others.
A great book in the series, this one about Dana Sue
Loved it!!!!!
Excellent! I have now read all three in the series and loved them all!
I enjoyed reading this book. It was well written. She is a good writer.
This book was so good. So good that i went to an old book sale that our Library host yearly, and i bought every book this author writes that they had available. She has awesome writing skills. She keeps your interest to the point you will want to stay up all night and finish reading it. I hope you will take the time to read anything this author has written.

I am really enjoying this series.......
Second of a new trilogy (third is due out April 07) about three women, friends since high school, and their second-time-around lives and the building of their respective businesses. A SLICE OF HEAVEN is Dana Sue's story -- it is about her successful restaurant, her own and her teen-aged daughter's eating disorders, and former fool of a former husband who seems to have developed some smarts since they've been apart.
Excellent 2nd book in The Sweet Magnolias Series!
Another good read in this series. Can't wait for the next one.

A wonderful book#2 to Sweet Magnolias trio. Ms Woods is a super author and book is as expected - just great.
Dana Sue might run the best little restaurant in Serenity, but when your feeding a small town of neighbors, busybodies, and best friends things can get a bit hot in the kitchen. Never mind that shes putting on too many pounds. shes worried about her too skinny teenage daughter,Annie, who has been slowly starbing herself since the loud suitcaase tossing name calling fit on her front lawn that left Dana Sue minus one cheating husband.
2nd book of the "Magnolia's" just as good as the first one. Now I am waiting for the final one, Helen's story.
This book is in hardcover form, hope you don't mind. like new
Typical Sherryl Woods, heartfelt plot-line where you are really pulling for the main character.
great book!

This is one of those series that you wish wouldn't stop at just three books,it's a great trilogy about families, true friendship, and real life problems. It's written with a great sense of humor and true perspective.
