Lisa Unger has to be one of the best new author's I've ever read. I picked up her first book Beautiful Lies and loved it. So I went on the hunt for the sequel Sliver of Truth and loved it just as much. She has a new book releasing soon and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Her books are page turners and you get so connected to her characters.

Unger builds and sustains taut suspense like few other authors, metering layers of intentional misrepresentation until a sliver of truth seems like a form of treasure.
This novel isn't exactly a sequel to "Beautiful Lies." It's more a continuation of a two-part story. Meaning, of course, that the first part should be read first. Don't even think about it. Get "Beautiful Lies," then get this one.

follow up book to Beautiful Lies which was a much better book.this story went round and round one too many times and became tedious towards the end.
the charachter of Ridley seems a little hard to believe with this being set in current day.i do like the way she address' the reader tho', it makes you feel part of the story.

Sliver of Truth is the sequel to Beautiful Lies, a book I read and enjoyed several months ago. Many questions were left unanswered at the end of Beautiful Lies, and here Unger tries to answer them, with some heart-pounding suspense, twists turns and all out action. It's hard to review a sequel without ruining the first book for those who haven't read it, but I'll give it a go.
Ridley Pearson's Uncle Max died a few years ago and Ridley has recently found out some life altering news about Max and his life. But if Max is dead then why is the FBI following Ridley and asking her questions about him? Why does Ridley's friend Jake believe Max is alive? And why does everyone Ridley contacts while investigating Max's death end up dead? Unger produces a very dark and intricately plotted story that delves more deeply into Ridley's character as well as those people who are a part of her life. You care for Ridley and walk with her every step of the way, hoping she will find the answers she so desperately seeks. Good sequel and I am definitely going to read Black Out, Unger's newest book.

Awesome book! The rollercoaster ride was fantastic, and you hoped the ride would not stop!! There were strong characters, and a great story. It kept you turning pages. Make sure you read Beautiful Lies first.

good book
Good but a bit too much repeat material for the 2nd in a sequence

I really enjoyed this book which is a follow-up to her book called "Beautiful Lies". There is plenty of excitement in this one.....and if you have never read any of Lisa Unger's books make sure you read "Beautiful Lies" first and then grab a copy of this one next!!!
this is the second book in the series. the first book, beautiful lies was just as good as this book. It makes more sense if you read beautiful lies first. Both books are awesome. Judy Unger is an amazing writer. This book reminds me of an old time psychological thriller. Written in the first person of different characters it is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. Minimum gory details and sex it is an absolute psychological thriller. So many twists and turns until it pulls itself together it keeps you guessing on every page. I enjoyed this so much that I started reading all of the books written by Lisa Unger. Everyone is as good as the last. My new favorite author is definitely Judy Unger. Start reading this book and it will have you up until the wee hours of the morning, wanting to know what happens next. ENJOY!!!
Very good conclusion to Beautiful Lies, I couldn't put it down. Lisa Unger writes trillers like no other.
Follow up book to Beautiful Lies. I liked this book. I am keeping it on my bookshelf.
I found this a real thriller with turns all through the book. There were so many lies and deception that the truth was a real shocker..
I really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting it down and it kept me guessing. It is best if you read Beautiful Lies first this is a sequel.
This was a great two book series! Highly Recommend!
I really liked this book. The twists and turns of the plot and the characters kept me on edge. I think it would be best if a person read "Beautiful Lies" first (which I did). This is a follow up to that story, but if one didn't read it first, Ms. Unger guides you through and gives just enough background, that you could read this one as a stand alone story. I did find myself questioning, in my mind, nearly everyone and everything around me while I was reading it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a mystery of the mind and people.
EXCELLENT book from Lisa Unger---------need to read Beautiful Lies first or at least it would help.
I received this book as a gift. I didn't realize it was a sequal when I began reading. However, it was not difficult to follow, even considering lots of back story. The character keeps the reader informed.
At times some of the events that the main character experenced were a bit far fetched, though still entertaining.
Suspensful. Much Excitement. Not hard to follow. Overall, an enjoyable story.

I completely enjoyed this book. It is a continuation, if you will, of Beautiful Lies. Unger's writing and plot follow through are good and keep your attention throughout the book. She also has the uncanny ability to pull the reader into the story by talking directly to you. If you like psychological thrillers, you'll like this book.
book is a great fast pace in your face thrill ride great from begining to end couldn't put it down is best if you read in order begining with beautiful lies.
Sliver of Truth is the second after beautiful lies. It was a good book, not as good as the first, but still very enjoyable. It did drag in a few places. But you need to read on about Ridley to see what happens next!
This is another great one by Lisa Unger...an absolute must of a follow up to Beautiful Lies. I highly recommend.
Recently, Ridley Jones stepped off a street corner and into an abyss of violence, deception, and fear. She is being a lot more careful about where she steps and trying to get on with her life when another seemingly mundane act - picking up a few envelopes of prints at a photo lab - puts Ridley at the nexus of a global network of crime. A shadowy figure of a man appears in almost every picture she's taken in the last year, lurking just far enough away to make identification impossible. Everyone from the federal government to the criminal underworld wants to know who the man is, and where he is, and some people are willing to kill to find out.
