I enjoyed reading these 12 stories. From the perspective of a young boy/cow hand. Stories include:
Suicidal Heifer, It Don't Take Much Dynamite to Blow Up an Outhouse, Revenge at the Girls' Latrine, Gastronomical Endeavors, Old Tom was a Good Old Cat, Things that go Bump and Hiss in the Night, Cuddles Goes Blind, Rutherford the Blind Mule, Bifocals and Store-Bought Teeth, A Bronc in the Clothesline, Good Help is Hard to Find, and A Snake in the Bathtub.
The only reasons I gave this a 3 start instead of 4 or 5 is due to the lack of loving relationships in the family. The incidents were funny, but the lack of love wasn't.
