Just outside London, a mother and her 2 daughters use herbs from the land of Faerie to make cough syrups and other useful medicines, but they keep those ingredients secret for fear of being called witches. They end up meeting someone from the land of Faerie who needs their help. They try help, even though they could be hanged for it. Full of fantasy, magic and suspense. Very enjoyable once you get used to words like thee, and. Great weekend read.

It was a really well written re-telling of Snow White and Rose Red. I liked that historic facts were incorporated. It reminded me a bit of Midsummer's Night Dream and also Mists of Avalon.
