Jace is trying to figure out why his happy fiancee suddenly committed suicide-or did she? If you love romance, mystery and the supernatural this is the book for you. Jude Deveraux has combined all these elements and thrown in contrast between English and American traits and meanings. It's very well written-drawing you into a mystery a whole town is curious about.

This book was not initially appealing to me however I decided to read it because I was falling back in love with Jude Deveraux's books after reading her 2 newest. I was kind of bored during chapter one but it picked up and moved great after that. It is pretty full of supernatural stuff such as ghosts but that didn't turn me off. I thought it was a great read. Only reason gave 4 stars as it was not really a romance novel but a mystery novel- I am not a big mystery fan. But still a great read over all.

Not my usual type of book, but it was a fun, fast read and kept my interest all the way through.
Three years after wealthy Jace Montgomery's fiancée, Stacy, committed suicide, he discovers a postcard of Priory House, a British estate, with an enigmatic love note. Although Stacy's family blamed Jace, saying she wanted to end the engagement, he knows their love was mutual, and has never believed it was suicide. Certain that Priory House holds the key, he buys the estate. He detests the rambling house on sight; however, he is intrigued by the Victorian ghost of Ann Stuart because, like Stacy, she supposedly committed suicide before her wedding to escape from marrying her intended groom. Jace knows that if he can untangle Ann's mystery, he can find out what really happened to Stacy. He gets help from his beautiful next-door neighbor, Nigh Smythe, a war correspondent on leave after a tragedy.
You can't go wrong with a Jude Deveraux book. I have yet to read one that I didn't like.
Very good! I read it twice!
