Nicely done.
Exactly what I have come to expect from Ms. Balogh. I have always enjoyed her historical romances and was excited to learn this was available on First to Read. This is a wonderful story of two people who above all else, are just seeking someone to love and to be loved in return. Anna Snow was raised in an orphanage, not knowing her family, not knowing why she was brought there as a young girl. Avery Archer is a textbook example of an aristocrat. He is haughty, rich, and self-interest. Anna and Avery's paths cross once Anna receives a mysterious letter notifying her that her late father was an Earl and she is now very rich and a lady. Her new family attempt to groom her into something she is not, while Avery struggles with his attraction for her. I cannot wait to read the rest in this series. My only complaint is that there is a ton of characters and they are all somehow related. It took me almost 80 pages to figure out everyone's titles, names and relationships. But, it should serve me well as I continue with this series.
