Fun, extremely fast read about an Italian-American childhood. I think anyone could identify with many of the humorous & heart-breaking happenings to two daughters.

Poignant story of Italian heritage. Rather sad.
Cool book. I am half Italian and love reading about Italian families and culture.
sad. depressing. Still worth reading. I had read all of her other books by the time I got to this one- and it makes me wonder if Rita Ciresi - is not just a little "disturbed". all of her books have characters that have real difficulty expressing emotions- and being able to give or receive love.
There is something very cold about this main character. In other ways, these books remind me of the novels Amy Tan writes, and the disconnect between immigrant parents and their American born children.

I loved this book!
An interesting and entertaining collections from one woman's life.
Laugh-out-loud descriptions of her childhood home, to the point I felt my thighs sticking to the plastic-covered sofa. Poignant, revealing truth between sisters. Great story, love her writing style.
An enjoyable story about 2 Italian sisters.
