This book only lacked one thing a logical story line. The very idea that a marriage between two young children could be valid is pretty wild. And, since I didnt buy that, the rest of the story seemed like an exercise in smoke-and-mirrors.
The book seemed overwrought; maybe Lisa Kleypas got caught up in the drama being staged at the Capital Theatre. I really didnt see love between the two main characters; however, the story abounded in lust and obsession.
The start of the book was very interesting and I settled in for a great story. However, as soon as I found that Julia was running away from a marriage that took place when she was 4, I knew we were in trouble. I gave the book 3 stars because the story was interesting enough to finish - barely.
