Eight brothers, born in four sets of twins, two years apart to the day-they fulfill the Curse of Eight Prophecy, and are thus exiled to Nightfall Isle, in Jean Johnson's "thoroughly romantic and wildly entertaining"* series.

Evanor lost his powers-and his voice-in a terrible battle that defeated his family's greatest enemy and gave his sister-in-law her freedom. The advanced magical healing that would restore his voice and powers is beyond their means- but not beyond the ability of the lovely healer Mariel. Mariel can restore what was torn from Evanor-and possibly repair her own broken heart in the process.

I like this series, it's a quirky feel good kinda story. However this book was mostly boring. I literally had to force myself to finish it.

Here's hoping it's just a glitch in this series and the others will follow Jean Johnson's great start.

One of the best of the series. The series seems to be getting better with each subsequent addition. Now I am really looking forward to The Cat. It has a bit of everything I like in a good story. Romance, humor, adventure, strong women loved by real supportive men, not the fake (I bow to no one) types and of course some sauciness. A good read for lovers of series or for those you just enjoy a good read.

The entire Sons of Destiny series is excellent. What do you do when your powers and a lot of your life relvolves around your voice? Travel with Evandor as he battles being silenced and tries to balance the hope of recovery with the dispair of losing mot of his internal identity in The Song.

On Nighfall island, being a woman is supposed to literally be the death of you. Can Mariel bring Evandor's voice and power back to him? Will the prophecy bring the two of them together or will it tare them apart?

I really Evanor and Mariel's love story. I would love for Jean Johnson to write a book on their son Mikor in future. This whole series so far has been a joy to read.

4th of the series. The story line has settled in. Its part predictable -- that the boy will get the girl -- but has some fresh turns with the 'external' characters. believe it or not this one has some sound parenting tips in it . . . along with the romance and magic of course.

Great book

I've thoroughly enjoyed the whole series: Sons of Destiny. Jean Johnson exhibits her creativity and talent with this set of books.

This book was well done. Evanor's fate is revealed after the happenings of the previous tale, The Master.

I'll be sorry when I've finished the Mage and have to say goodbye to the characters in the series.
