This is a must buy. If you do not have this book sitting on your to be read mountain, you must go out and buy it. Today. Right now. This minute. I will not be able to say enough good things about this book, so you just need to read it for yourself. Rachel Vincent is a mastermind. She takes an original concept and weaves a story that you will not want to put down until you have devoured the whole book. I am so excited for My Soul to Save. I will be at the bookstore the day it comes out. Nash is amazing, Kaylee is so much fun to read about and you will want to strangle Sophie. There are some plot twists that will leave you on the edge of your seat. This is one of the best books Ive read this year. I highly recommend it.

Kaylee Cavanaugh is not your average teenage girl.
There's something a bit off about her.
Whenever she's near someone who is about to die, she can sense it. When that happens, she feels the urge to scream loud enough for everyone to hear.
Kaylee wants to be a normal girl. Being a normal girl to Kaylee is going out on a date with her crush, Nash, who also happens to be the hottest guy in school. But going out on that date has to take a backseat when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason. Nash doesn't seem as in the dark as Kaylee feels, and she needs to know why.
Who will die next? Only Kaylee knows for sure.
Wonderfully written characters that are portrayed as typical teenagers that possess extraordinary powers. A fast-paced, engrossing read that you won't want to put down. A story that I wouldn't mind sharing with my preteen, although she'll have to wait until I am done.
MY SOUL TO TAKE is a wonderful beginning to a series that fans of Ms. Vincent's adult SHIFTERS series will definitely be rushing out to buy. A book like this is one of the reasons that I add authors to my auto-buy list. This is definitely a keeper.

Rachel Vincent blends mystery, romance, and magic into a series starter that will definitely find an audience with teen readers. With so many paranormal novels out there, the idea of MY SOUL TO TAKE is refreshingly unique: I haven't read many books concerning bean sidhes (banshees), those who announce death. The explanation behind the existence of bean sidhes is well spun; I always appreciate a well-wrought backstory.
The characters and writing, while not too noteworthy, were still interesting enough to capture the attention of a less discerning reader than me. The romance was tame, the attraction between Kaylee and Nash a little too sudden and forced for my taste, but it was okay because of the high interest levels of the world this book describes. It's not the romance that's the focus here, but the paranormal world.
MY SOUL TO TAKE is a good beginning to a series that will attract who are new to YA paranormal fiction.

WOW! This book was awesome. Why, might you be asking? It had a strong, fast moving plot, dynamic and perfectly depicted characters, and some nice sarcasm and humor (when appropriate). I have to say, once I got into the book, and started to learn more about Kaylee's particular situation, I was socked, I have never read a book with this particular paranormal uh...trying not to spoil anything...situation, maybe. You will have to read it to get it, and I don't want to give it away. This book is awesome, and I am already in love with Nash. 100%.
