this is a great book for those that enjoy dashell hammett.
there are 3 stories [cases] with an underlaying case that follows to the end.
you find that samuel spade is an honest man,trusted by many of influence because he knows how to keep a secret,gets the job done. he's willing to shift the credit to
police for solving a case.
you meet effie perine on her first day on the job,sid wise when they realize they are
after the same thing.
a very enjoyable fast read. would enjoy more like it.
