This new series from Cussler is a nice diversion from the usual adventures of Pitt, Austin, and Juan Cabrillo. "Spartan Gold" is more of a treasure hunt story. Although there is a bad guy who is also after the treasure, the villain is not the usual megalomaniac who is after world domination and the heroes of the story do not end up saving the world from global destruction. But the adventure told by Cussler and Blackwood is most enjoyable and as usual, you get some doses of history thrown in. In this case, Napoleon, ancient Sparta and Persia are key elements of the adventure. Sam and Remi Fargo, the treasure-hunting protagonists of this series are very likable and I'll be looking forward to their next adventure.

Clive Cussler doesn't disappoint in the latest series starring the Fargos. It's fun visiting and learning about exotic parts of the world through the eyes of the husband and wife team.

This is another excellent book by Clive Cussler. It also appears that it is an autographed copy. Not 100% sure whether it is an actual signature or if it's printed on the title page.
