I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of this series, and the latest volume is again a great read. This book does shed some additional light on the moral character of Fletcher and his training methods, and reinforces why this series is a "must buy" for me.

Gin gets a flash back to when she was a teen, being trained by Fletcher. Fletcher was hired for a job, but left it unfinished because of his "No kids--ever" rule. Now that unfinished business is an adult and back to get his revenge. Raymond Pike's father was an abusive husband who killed his wife and abused his kids. Raymond, however thinks that his sister Lorelei killed him and has vowed to kill her for it. A powerful metal elemental, he is very strong and plans to use his strength to get his revenge.

Gin eventually remembers Lorelei and Raymond from her teen years, and vows to protect Lorelei even though Lorelei has grown into a powerful dual elemental herself. Gin feels that Raymond coming after Lorelei is her fault, since Gin is the one who actually killed Pike's father.

The interesting part of this book was the fact that Raymond Pike is a powerful metal elemental, and since Gin's go-to weapons are her silverstone knives, she is at a disadvantage against someone who can control her weapons. How will Gin win without her knives? Read to find out!

Same ole same ole. I sure wish Estep would work harder on character development. I feel like each story is just like the last one, only with a different bad guy. No long term storyline is in place. Yawn.
