AMAZING!!!! The fifth installment in the VA series does not disappoint. It is action packed and the twists and turns in the book are great. This is my favorite series by Richelle Mead and I really like that the characters have grown up over the course of the series in an authentic, beleivable pace. Do not miss out on a great read, whatever you do!

Doing this review spoiler free is going to be quite a challenge. I sure hope I'm up to it!
The last book in the series left us with quite a cliffhanger, this book immediately picks up the dangling threads and runs with it. It starts with Rose and Lissa graduating, but it won't be long before Rose realizes that graduation doesn't equal freedom, it equals more responsibility. She will go on a crazy journey to save the one she loves, endangering not only herself, but those she cares about most along the way. I cannot believe all places that this book took us, so many directions, you never see what's coming next. It's like being on a roller coaster, and right when you expect to start a climb you get a drop, and you can never see around the curves!

Rose, still the strong girl she has been through out the series, is growing into an amazing woman, who faces each challenge thrown at her with determination. Although not always graceful and eloquent, she gets the job done her own way, and she's willing to face the consequences when she realizes that her way wasn't the best. Her passion is inspiring.

Lissa, is growing as well. Becoming more accustomed to being a spirit user and learning how to wield that power. She grows more independent of Rose and is starting to become more like the royal she is everyday. Her and Rose's devotion to each other is a true look at how friendship should always be.

Once again Richelle Mead has left us all breathless. This series isn't fizzling out, it's picking up speed with every turn. When I had to put this book down, all I could think about was hurrying up so I could get back to it. The characters in this book deal with grief, loss, heartache, trials, and are still standing through it all. It was a stunning read that once again left us with a huge cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next installment.

I don't think I can rave any more about Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series without sounding like a fan girl. But I am going to try.

Once again, Mead delivers a fantastic installment of her series, set to conclude with its sixth and final novel, Last Sacrifice, in Decemeber 2010. In Spirit Bound, dhamphir Rose and her best friend, royal Moroi, Lissa, have graduated from St. Vladimir's Academy and are on their way to the Real World. Lissa plans to live at Court -- at the request of Queen Tatiana -- and attend Lehigh University with Rose by her side. The chance of Rose still serving as Lissa's official guardian is a slim one, despite their blood bond. Rose is still paying the price for her reckless mission to save Dimitri in Siberia. Unfortunately, Dimitri is still very much alive, and bent on destroying Rose as soon as she leaves the protection of school or the Court.

Rose, however, is driven by her belief that she can restore Dimitri's soul and turn him from Strigoi back to a dhamphir if she only had the guidance of the right spirit user. Despite her budding romantic relationship with Adrian, she is almost singularly focused on this seemingly impossible task. With the help of her friends -- and some major deciet - Rose stages a risky jailbreak to gather the information she needs to set her plan in motion.

Rose and Dimitri's continent-spanning game of cat and mouse ends in fantastic and dramatic fashion, but not in the way Rose envisions. She's left to pick up the pieces and try to move forward, even though her heart tells her to do otherwise.

Unfortunately, this climax is not the end of Spririt Bound. A surprise twist left me stunned and set the series on an unexpected path toward its conclusion. Rose is falsely accused of a horrible crime she didn't commit, and her Mafioso father, Abe, may be the only person that can save her.

I was blown away by this book. The change of venue from the Academy to the adult Moroi world at Court was a good one, and provided a good turning point for the political intrigue at work in the novel. Mead actually seems to be ramping up her series, despite the conclusion looming on the horizon one mere book away. I will anxiously await to see how she pulls together all the loose ends in Last Sacrifice, and will try not to be TOO sad about the end of this fantastic series.

For some unfathomable reason, I find Rose to be an interesting and strong female heroine, and yet I'm completely annoyed by Zoey Redbird in the House of Night series, which is almost identical in setting and tone to these books.

While I hope rose deals with Dimitri, I'm still totally rooting for Adrian.

A good book in a good series.

After Rose's graduation test, she joins the real world. While she awaits her assignment, she heads for the royal court with Lissa. While they're there, Rose plans an adventure neither of them will ever forget.

If they're ever going to save Dimitri, it's going to be now. After some research and with a plan in mind, they travel to Alaska - home to Victor Dashkov. He alone has the information Rose needs to find and save Dimitri. Unfortunately, he's under strict lock and key.

Once they break him out and uncover the truth, it's only a matter of time before Dimitri tracks down Rose. While she's determined to save him, he's determined to kill her so they can be forever joined. When they finally do meet, who will win the battle of wills and emotions?

I loved this book, as I have the previous books in the VAMPIRE ACADEMY series. They're filled with raw emotion: love, betrayal, disbelief, misunderstanding, jealousy, and horror. The fast-paced action plus the intensity of emotions makes this addition to the series a very quick read.

While the final book in the series, LAST SACRIFICE, will be published in December 2010, a spin-off series is thankfully in the works.

Rose is set to take her guardian trial and then what? Well here is Rose's master plan, she is going to figure out how to return Dimitri to dhampir. In an effort to do this, Rose and Lissa are going to break Lissa's mortal enemy, Victor Dashkov out of prison to help locate Robert Doru, the only known spirit user who can turn strigoi back into dhampir. Now by itself, this is an ambitious undertaking but here it's just a means to an end and it's rushed and the three kids easily break Victor out of a maximum security vampire prison in mere minutes. yeah right. Now my question here is this: Rose is currently heavily dating Adrian. So if she is successful in returning the love of her life to life, what happens to Adrian? I guess that doesn't cross her mind. Of course, there are a ton of other things going on but this is the most ridiculous plot line of them all and it just couldn't keep my interest. I kept putting the book down to go do inconsequential things because I was so bored. I've had trouble with this series almost since the beginning but the books eventually redeem themselves and hook you in so you're forced to pick up the next installment just to see what ridiculous things Rose concocts.

Crazy good ending with this book! Really leaves you hanging. (So glad I already have #6!!) Loved all the twists and turns. This author is great at reminding you who people are from previous books in the series. Don't know who to want for Rose at the end of this one... Adrian or Dimitri??
