Lucy Stone wants to solve the murder of old Dan Malone. She finds out that he didn't have the perfect reputation that everyone thought he had as the generous owner of the local Irish pub. After she found out from the locals that he tried to swindle several of them out of their money and valuable time, her problem is just figuring out which one did he burn the most. After getting herself involved in sticky situations and almost getting snuffed out by the killer, secrets in Tinker Cove finally come out to everyone's surprise. I found it to be an interesting holiday read.

I have read every book in this series and have enjoyed them all. There is never a dull moment in Tinker's Cove and Lucy Stone always seems to get involved in a murder. Very enjoyable, quick read.

Leslie Meier continues to turn out great cozy mysteries, each with new and fresh plots and story lines. St. Patrick's Day Murder is no exception. Between rehearsing for a play to be presented on St. Patty's Day, to new characters from Ireland, to old scores being settled and an "icky" murder to be solved, this book has to rank as one of my favorites in the series.

It took a bit to get into the story, but the ending was a bit of a surprise and a good mystery writer can create that kind of experience for the reader. The hints of Irish superstitions and possibilities scattered throughout the story kept one guessing to the end. A good read.

I have enjoyed reading the Lucy Stone mysteries. She is a real person living a real life and it is easy to relate to her.
