This book did nothing for me. The writing style was loopy, the main character totally unlikeable, it was just a mess. I was disappointed because I really wanted to read this.

I loved this book. I liked how the author changed perspectives at the start of each chapter. The story was good. I liked the mystery that surrounded Eric & who he was before becoming a vampire. Will definitely read the next book. There was some items left unanswered at the end of the book.

I really liked this book. I thought it was going to be one of the more "dark" type vampire stories, but it was actually really funny & very entertaining. I cant wait to read the next one & follow the crazy adventures of Eric. I was a bit distracted w/ the change of perspectives at each chapter, but once I got used to it, I actually liked having all the different perspectives. 4 stars.

I loved this book. It's not anywhere near a paranormal romance and I think the cover doesn't represent the darkness of the book. The main character, Eric, is not a lovable, sparkly vampire - he's brutal, cruel but still holds on to a slight bit of his humanity.

The book alternates chapters between Eric and his girlfriend, Tabitha. I liked the different perspectives and it's not as confusing as a Stephen King can be with the switching between characters and their thoughts. (Don't get me wrong - I love Stephen King!)

I'm looking forward to book two.

This is a book that's FUN. Definitely hard to put down. Run out and get it -right now-, trust me. Because I was reading the library's copy, and within a very few pages I was thinking, "If I steal this book, they'll have to buy another!" but I'd rather buy _Staked_ honestly.

Great book. I nearly blew a work deadline because I got caught up in reading.

Last night I stayed up to finish the book. _Staked_ rocks. Want more -- now! Luckily, the sequel will be out spring of 2009.

Warning: violence, sarcasm, pizza lust, wit, humor, etc.

Also wins the prize for great first lines.

Ugh..I couldn't even get through the first half of this book. The writing is all over the place and the lack of continuity just confused me more and more with each turn of the page. You can tell it's a first novel for this author. The story, per the back cover, sounds great but when you're reading it, it feels like a very VERY rough draft. Posted it to swap without finishing it. Thank god I got it from the bargain bin at Borders for only $3.99. I would've been pissed if I had paid full price.

Loved this book. The "hero" vampire is arrogant but likable, and situations can be funny, lots of action, great fun.

I don't think there is any difference between the two versions posted here other than the cover art. PBS doesn't seem to have the cover for this version, but after checking the isbn # this is the one I read and the descriptions are exactly alike. I think the cover art on this copy is better than the original though. To get on with things, this book was great, not really for the under 15 crowd though. There is lots of Violence, blood, sex, and let's not forget, plenty of humor to balance things out. I finished this thing in a weekend flat, pretty good for having just bought it on a whim. If you like vampires and werewolves and magic or just enjoy a good solid action read check this one out. I couldn't get into Twilight at all, in fact I think I put it down after just a few chapters, but I really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading the others!

I didn't like this book. The main characters is not likeable. He makes so many mistakes,I couldn't feel sorry for him. The story was choppy, all over the place. I was glad this is a library book.

This book was a waste of time. I struggled to get through the first hundred pages hoping it would get interesting, instead it kept going in circles and not really making any sense.
The main character seems likeable enough even if he's a little loopy and can't remember things he should.

The story starts out in an alley and really gives no background information about what happened and it still just gives little snippets and pieces of the whole picture. It was a major diappointment and I gave up and didn't even bother with it, which is saying alot because I will read cereal boxes or anything with words.
