Allison Brennan is one of the best mystery-suspense-thriller authors writing today! I have been a big fan of her books since I read my first, THE PREY. I have read all of them (in order :) just because I have to*) and STALKED ranks among my favorites.

STALKED grabs the reader from the start and keeps you on the "edge of your seat" --chapter after chapter. I didn't want to put it down which earned me some frowns from my family over the recent holiday.

She is a master storyteller, weaving in just enough back story to give the book depth and the reader enough knowledge. The mystery is compelling and complex; with gritty and genuine characters. She's not afraid to kill-off likable characters for the sake of the story. (It happened in KILLING FEAR. I still remember my shock and indignation on behalf of a certain character. I am sure I wrote to Allison, "how could you?")

STALKED continues Lucy Kincaid's story--Lucy is now (finally) a new trainee at the FBI Academy in Quantico. She has grown so much as a character from a teenage victim to a smart, intuitive and brave young woman. Her relationship with Sean Rogan deepens. I believe this is the 5th Lucy and Sean story. My only criticism of this book is I wish there was more romance--okay, sex, in it. Like the "proverbial carrot" Lucy and Sean's relationship is dangled in front of the reader. :)

Favorite characters return in this book, FBI profiler Hans Vigo (goes all the way back to THE PREY), FBI agents Noah Armstrong and Suzanne Madeaux, Assistant Director Rick Stockton, sister-in-law, Kate Donovan, brothers Dillon and Patrick Kincaid and of course Sean Rogan. I love this about Allison's books--we get introduced to intriguing, sometimes flawed, characters and we get to see their personality develop and evolve in a later book. I hope Noah and Rick get a book of their own sometime. (SOON!)

Thank you Allison Brennan for giving us another fabulous read!

Lucy Kincaid is finally at Quantico taking the New Agent Training for the FBI. Lucy is enjoying her classes and the new friends she has made when she receives a phone call from FBI Special Agent Suzanne Madeaux in New York City. Writer Rosemary Weber has been found murdered. She recently contacted Lucy for information in a case that Lucy and her boyfriend, Sean Rogan, helped with. Though Lucy refused to give Rosemary the information, she is pulled into the murder investigation by one of her instructors, FBI Agent Tony Presidio. Tony believes Rosemary was killed because of a true crime book that she wrote. Tony investigated the murder of Rachel McMahon fifteen-years-ago and believes that her death may be tied to it. He asks Lucy to help him by reading Rosemary's book and wading through the clues.

This story starts with a flashback to the night eleven-year-old Rachel McMahon was murdered. I was immediately pulled into the story. Now the FBI must figure out if Rosemary Weber was killed because of something she wrote in her bestselling book about the McMahon murder.

One thing I like about this series is that characters from past books keep popping up. We met Agent Madeaux a few books ago and I was happy to see her back. She kept the New York side of the story moving while Lucy worked the investigation at Quantico. I think this is the best story in the series so far and am looking forward to the next. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Tensions rise during Lucy's FBI training while she's asked to help solve a series of crimes involving some colleagues and strangers.

The book is intricately plotted and brilliantly structured. Not an easy read, because you have to keep track of a big cast of characters, but the ending is unusually satisfying.

I liked, and I did not like the book. It was slow at times, but interesting at other times. It definitely had too much psychobabble for me, but maybe not for other readers.

only giving this a 2 1/2 star rating just because it is overly long and didn't need to be, story is good but at times it just gets slow and you have to trudge through FBI babble along with the romances of a couple of the characters and then there's the mystery surrounding Kate which I thought was just overdone and drawn out too much, however, if you can get through all that then it's a fairly good book

I love reading this series to see what my "friends" are up to! The character development in this series has been so good, that I can picture each of the characters and consider them "friends" This one is a thriller, read in one lazy day at the pool it keeps you reading and definitely has twists and turns.
