Janice S. (truff) reviewed Stalking Irish Madness: Searching for the Roots of My Family's Schizophrenia on + 3 more book reviews
I enjoy both books that are memoirs and books about neurology and psychiatric conditions; however, the author's conveyance of his angst growing up, was repeated in the same terms several times through out the book. HIs sisters were striken with schizophrenia which affected other member's of his family. However, instead of giving examples of how it affected other's lives, it was basically a repetition of "my poor sisters".
Also, the author travels to Ireland to research the roots of this disease, and he gives many stories of legend, fairy tale etc. from Ireland which was interesting, but I could not see how it had bearing on his quest. It basically just confused me.
