I finished this book and thought it was fine but the more I think about it the more it grows on me. The writing was excellent for a debut novel and the plot of the novel was in some ways unexpected. It seems lately there's been a plethora of novels set in rich New England boarding schools but to me this one pleasantly stood out from the crowd.

Jason Prosper grew up privileged-boarding school, sailing, summers in Maine. When he loses his best friend to suicide, he starts to question everything about his life. This was a darker book than I thought it would be. It focuses on Jason coming to terms with his life and trying to figure out just who he really is and what he's looking for.
Well-written book, leaves you wondering about how any of us get to where we are in life. The author wrote both a powerful and a humble book at the same time.
