Tried reading this for 2-1/2 weeks and finally just skimmed through it. This story is about Jake King and Angelina Huxtable who is the daughter of the PI in Get Lucky. Jake is hired by the PI to be bodyguard to his daughter as she investigates a mafia boss member of the 'game'. Jake loses all credibility with me when Angelina's father calls to ask where his daughter is and Jake replies "I assume she is in her room." WTF! He is supposed to be guarding her with his life? He just wants in her pants. I'll give Run Wild (Bk 4) a try but then I am done with this author.

The novel starts slowly and OClare writes with a lot of detail and repetition. I found this a bit annoying and did quite a bit of skim reading. The plot was kind of cool though. There arent a lot of steamy scenes for an action/romance but Jake and Angela were likeable enough. I thought the ending was the opposite of the beginning, finished very quickly and maybe too easily. It was still a decent read. Im intrigued enough to go back and read the rest of the series but Im not sure I would want to spend any real money on it.
Enjoyed book but some of the story line was a little far feched.
