Wow, what a surprise...this book touched my heart. It is unusual for a book to start with a divorce and show the struggles of rebuilding a life. This is a real story...with real characters...with real situations. I LOVED the younger man/older woman scenerio. Stealing Home was a really good read! V.Garber

This book offers a look into the lives of three best friends. The main character is Maddie and she is in the process of a messy divorce, trying to raise 3 children and also open a new business with her 3 best friends. In the end it all works out. I am in the process of reading the other 2 follow up stories about these 3 women, A Slice of Heaven and Feels Like Family. I'm sure those will be enjoyable too.

This is the first book of a trilogy. Each of the books is about one of three friends who live in a small South Carolina town and I loved their very different stories! This first book is mainly about Maddie and her children whose comfortable world has been rocked by her husband's betrayal. Her friends rally around and come up with a plan to get Maddie "out of the house"--they open an exercise/spa facility where Maddie, with her long unused business degree, turns an old Victorian house into a welcoming oasis for the townspeople. Because of difficulties with Maddie's oldest son, the young high school baseball coach becomes a very important part of Maddie's story.
love it....happily reading more of the series now....I love getting to know the characters and learning more about the characters as you read the next book in the series.....Real problems, real families and love. What's not to love.
Book 1 of the Sweet Magnolias series.
This was a wonderful story and I love the small town Sherryl has brought to life. I stayed up late two nights in a row so I could finish and am anxious for the next one in the series.
Another wonderful Sherryl Woods book. I'm looking forward to read the rest of her Sweet Magnolias series to see what happens to Dana Sue and Helen. Sherryl Woods writes in about the same style as Debbie Macomber.
I enjoyed this trilogy. I thought it was great to read about the closeness and concern about friends and how they helped each other out.
I've recently read this entire series of books and enjoy the small town setting, the sense of family, and the friendship between Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen. As a mother in my forties, with teenagers, Maddie was someone I could relate to (only without the jerk husband and the hot new boyfriend!). Maddie grew during this book, and we get to go on that journey with her, and her family. As soon as I was finished, I couldn't wait to read Dana Sue's story in Book 2!
It is pretty predictable and the dialogue was full of cliches. Definitely not great literature but entertaining and an easy read.
Like all other of her books, I love the family and real life situations that Sherryl Woods includes in her stories. The characters are real and deal with heartening decisions and complex results. The small town setting is comfortable and includes not only family, but friends as well.
another good book.
The writing is very poor.
This was a good read. As a divorcee myself and taking another leap toward my life I can relaste to Maddie. As with her in this book, friends are a great supporter. I enjoyed the book and looking forward to the next book in this series.
This is the first book I've read by this author. It has 6 more books in the series which I will try to read. I thought the story dragged out alittle in the middle. At the end alot seemed to happen in a few pages which I guess would lead up to the 2nd book. But think more of that could've been discussed in the middle of the book. Just my thought.
very good book

great series, great friends great read!
This is another great series by Sherryl
Woods. She is a great writer. Her books are usually on the south and I love that. I have allot of friends that read her books so I read an then pass them on. Sometimes after all has read them I donate them to the local Senior Center or to our local library that is mostly run on donations.

well written; interesting novel, really enjoyed,
Great story! Loved the family and how they interact with each other. Can't wait to read the others in the trilogy
Back Cover: Maddie Townsend might live in a town called Serenity, but there's been nothing calm or peaceful about her life since her marriage broke up. This stay-at-home mom has no job skills, an out-of-control sixteen-year-old son, a talkative fourteen-year-old who's suddenly gone silent, a six-year-old daughter whose heart is broken, an ex-husband whose younger girlfriend is expecting their baby and two best friends who think she's somehow qualified to help them open a fitness spa for women
But if Maddie is a tad on edge with all that on her plate, it's nothing compared to the chaos that ensues when she discovers that her son's baseball coach has feelings for her and the whole town disapproves. Maddie's faced a lot of challenges lately with strength and resolve, but Cal Maddox may turn out to be more than she can handle.
Then again, he could just be the one man in all of South Carolina who can help her find serenity.
I loved it!!!!!!!!1

I really enjoyed this book!
Excellent book - 1st in a series of 3
This is a great read. Very hard to put down! It's the first in a series of 3 and I can't wait to read the other 2.
Sherryl Woods writes a great romance about a small town Southern doctor's wife whose world is turned upside down when her husband asks for a divorce to marry his young nurse. Her son's baseball coach turns out to be the support her family needs.
Another winner by Sherryl Woods. I can't wait to read "A Slice of Heaven".
Great start of a outstanding series. If you are fan of this author - you must start this trilogy.
mine is HArdcover edition. EXCELLENT start to a brand new series!
Great book! I can't wait to read the rest in the series.
this was the first time I read any of Sheryl Woods books. I have just found another author that I can't wait for the next book to be released. I couldn't put the book down.
First in a trilogy of the Sweet Magnolias, three women in a small South Carolina town who get to have second-time-around life transformations. STEALING HOME is about Maddie who sheds the life of the town doctor's wife and takes on her own when she goes into business with her best friends while maintaining her life as mom to three.
Oh, and there is that baseball coach who is interested in getting to know Maddie better.

Great book!!!!!
Book 1 of a 3 book series. I absolutely loved the book and I love the way Sherryl Woods writes. She does not fill up the pages with descriptions of the scenery etc. Fun read!!
Excellent! Looking forward to the next in the series
Enjoyable romance, quick read.....made me want to immediately read the next two in the series.
Loved this book!
Started this new series by Sherryl Woods; so far so good. Love the southern story line. Love anything South Carolina related.
Sherryl Woods is one of my favorites, and this book is too!
Great book!
This book was the perfect book to read after a disturbing memoir. The plot is not to demanding but kept my interest. I would recommend this book for a weekend read with a cup of tea snuggled up on the couch.
1st of a trio. Very good stories of the "Sweet Magnolias" I am looking forward to the 3rd book. I will post the 2nd book "A Slice of Heaven" right after I finish it.
This was my first Sherryl Woods book. I really liked it. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Frist in a series 'The Sweet Magnolias', Stealing Home is a very good storyline and a very good book for readers of Sherryl Woods.
it is an older book but I enjoyed reading it to see what had happened in the beginning
