This is a light reading book coming in at 253 pages. A mystery involving a female musician, nothing too deep, but entertaining.
Carlotta Carlyle and Dee Willis once sang in harmony. Now Dee has a music career, while Carlotta drives a cab, dates a Mafia man, and looks for missing persons in Boston. But the miles they've travled can't change what they once had, or keep it from coming back to haunt them. One of her best books.
This book did absolutely nothing for me. I read the first 50 pages and just could not get into it. I did not feel any connection between the two main characters and found myself not really caring what happened to them. Would not recommend.
Next in the Carlotta Carlyle series. An old friend, Dee Willis, who stole Carlotta's ex husband and made it to the cover of People Magazine, chart topping musician, hires Carlotta to find an old friend. Carlotta meets up with Calvin, the ex, and stuff of course happens.
wonderful entertainment
I enjoyed this book and I intend to read more by this author.
An excellent book based on the political atmosphere worldwide, but taking place in China with back-flashes to the U.S. in what I assume is Iraq. The main character, Ellie, is an impressive woman for someone who obviously has PTSD, a limp from injuries, and an almost ex-husband. Her friends and acquaintances in China range from artists to possible threatening secret agents.
Great female protagonist. Fourth in the series. This one is set around an old friend who is a professional musician and has a drug problem. Wonderful writing and characterization. Carlotta Carlyle is a great character, and there is wonderful references to blues musicians in all her books.
