After waiting anxiously for a new Diana Palmer book, I'll have to say that this particular story was a BIG disappointment. I know some don't like her older agressive heroes/younger virgin heroines because usually the heros can act downright nasty at times. Chief Graves was for the most part a nice guy, but at the end of the story, my main thought was "where does she get these people?" The only character in the book to show a little fire was Rourke. It was a short book, but hard to finish because it was a slow story. I felt like the author was in a hurry to write the book or used a ghost writer. Very disappointing.

I will continue reading Diana Palmer until I can't anymore. But I miss the author of old...Every book I am looking for LONG TALL TEXANS but instead find a good story waiting to be rewritten. I am a history teacher and enjoy a little historical flavor but this was way over the top for seasoned readers. This is definitely NOT on my reread list. Abby - Calhoun where are you?
