Fantasy tale from Samhain Publishing, and Lilith Saintcrow. Kaia is a thief, mercenary, blade for hire, who was shunned by her people, for lacking magical abilities. She's lived alone, depending on no one but herself. But that's about to change. First, a Giant becomes indebted to her, and won't go his own way. Then a male of her People finds her, and claims that they belong together. This seems to be the beginning of an epic tale. The plot line is good, if a little long. It's one of these stories that has a lot of words, phrases in another language. I found it distracting. This really isn't a romance, as much as its sort of action/adventure. Pretty good, overall.
I found this book to be well written, with envolving characters and interesting plot twists. I would be happier with it if it hadn't ended in a way that demanded a second book. A book the author says she will not write.

If your expecting this to be like her other 2 excellent series ~ forget it! This book stunk. I made it through 30 pages before I said enough. Definitely not a keeper.
